Does Your Lead Magnet Have This Problem?

Let’s talk about lead magnets for just a moment. 

These are the free resources like PDF’s, cheat sheets or videos that you create to attract prospects to your list, in the hope that this prospect becomes your client. 

But some business owners or coaches create lead magnets that are not so effective. 

They create lead magnets that are not very magnetic, that don’t attract leads, or don’t move their prospects easily through their funnel.  Do you have this problem?

Do you have a lead magnet isn’t magnetic, and doesn’t attract leads?

Let’s start by talking about where most coaches go wrong when they’re creating their funnel.   

Most coaches start by creating a lead magnet.  

  1. The coach creates some sort of content they think would be interesting to their prospects; something that their target market wants to know.
  2. Then they create some sort of conversion event like a webinar, workshop, or sales call.  
  3. Then they hope that their prospect joins their program.

But most lead magnets do not attract your ideal prospect.  And by ideal prospect, I mean someone who will sign on as a client to work with you.

Reverse engineer your process.

Instead of starting by creating your lead magnet and then moving on to the rest of your funnel, begin with your program and reverse engineer the process.  This way you’ll create lead magnets that are truly magnetic and ensure you’re attracting your ideal prospect.

1. Your coaching program.

What is the program you are wanting people to sign up for?  Who is your ideal client?  What are their biggest frustrations, and what do they want right now?

2. Your conversion event. 

Once you know who your ideal prospect is, what is the most effective method to get your prospects to sign on to work with you?

Is it through a sales webinar?  Or are they more likely to sign on to work with you via some sort of discovery session?

Explore the most efficient way to converse with your prospects. Whatever method you choose should make your prospects realise that they have a problem or gap that you can help fill. 

3. Your lead magnet.

Finally, create a lead magnet that will naturally attract people to your conversion event. Always remember that the lead magnet should compel your prospects to take some sort of action and give them a quick win. Since the lead magnet is connected to the program, there is a higher chance that once they attend the conversion event that they will be more willing to sign up for your program.

Create a magnetic lead magnet to grow your list

So if your lead magnets aren’t doing their job and growing your list, then look through fresh eyes and reverse engineer your process. Begin with your program, and work backwards until you can create a specific lead magnet that will attract your ideal prospects.
