Do you suffer from a severe case of comparison-itis?
Do you sometimes feel like an imposter?
Afraid to share what you know, or your point of view from a fear of being judged?
A few years ago, I was given a piece of advice which I took on board…
“Sam, athletes know everything about their competitors, so they know exactly what they need to focus on to win. How fast they go, how high they jump, their style…..
And as a business owner, you should be no different. You should know everything about your competitors.”
Wow!
Taking on that piece of advice had me absolutely frozen in fear for a few months.
Who was I to speak up? I certainly wasn’t good enough…
That was until I realised it was the worst piece of advice I was given.
Because I realised I didn’t have direct competitors.
In the words of Seth Godin, it was time for me to be a purple cow in a field of brown cows.
I’m unique, and you are too!
Today, I’m going to give you the three things you need to focus on this week, so you can get out of your own way, and move forward.
The first is to focus on what you want.
Don’t focus on what’s in the way, focus on the outcome.
The second phase is to assess what you need, and then fill with what you’re missing.
Do you need some technical knowledge? Do you need a coach to help you shift an irrational fear?
And the third phase is feel the fear, and move forward anyway.

“Why not me? Why not now?”
Maybe it’s time to try that on for size this week…
It’s your time to shine,
