If you have a business, most likely you will have created a Facebook page. Whilst a Facebook page can help your business connect with customers and potential leads through paid advertising, if you’re looking to connect and engage with your audience in an organic way, don’t hold your breath expecting to do that through your business page.
Creating a Facebook group for your business is a much more effective way to connect with your ideal audience, and in this article I’ll share the five main benefits I’ve found from running my main Facebook Group, Thought Leaders Inner Circle:
1. A group creates a more personal connection with your prospects.
People don’t generally like to interact with a post from a business, but they enjoy to interact in conversations with like-minded people.
In a Facebook group, people are interacting with people rather than a business, and as your prospects will do business with those they ‘know, like and trust’, this is a real benefit for you and how people connect with your personal brand.
As your tribe are more likely to Interact in your group, it provides you with a more personal channel to cater to their unique concerns and needs. This makes you more approachable, and it helps you forge closer relationships with your prospects.
2. You create a tribe where you are seen as the authority. As the Facebook group host, you’re positioning yourself as the go-to-expert, and the group members are seeing you as the authority.
This gives you a fantastic platform to educate your audience on your zone of genius, and also gives you a highly targeted group to announce your offers.
Your group is also a fantastic avenue to share case studies, success stories, content, and personal experiences, which also positions you as the go-to-authority.
3. You will get helpful insights through interaction.
Conducting polls is a great way to get insights for creating new products. And interacting with your group will help you understand their frustrations and aspirations on a much deeper level which means you are able to create much more compelling copy.
4. You’ll stay top of mind.
The priority of Facebook is to create community, so the algorithm is set up to reward you for building one. When there is activity in your group, Facebook will send out notifications, which your group members will see. The more you post, the more you’ll show up and be seen.
5. You’ll build your list.
Say what?
Yes, you read that right. Facebook gives you the option to ask three questions when people choose to join your group. So for one of those questions, offer your lead magnet in return for them leaving their email address. Not everyone will choose to, and that’s totally fine. But some people will, and that’s a win!
So what are you waiting for? Set up your new Facebook Group and start to reap the rewards of building a loyal tribe of potential new clients.
