In this episode, I’m going to talk about human design, and how it’s your permission slip to build a business that is uniquely built to align with you and your goals. So you can remove the friction that is holding you back from building your elegant empire.

Welcome to Episode 409, of Influence By Design, today is day two of our 30 and 30, where we’re releasing episodes every day for this entire month, for the month of September. And we’re focusing on the theme of stepping into your power being the unapologetic leader in your industry so you can build your elegant empire. Now, when you’re working at lightspeed in your business, as most of us are, and you’re trying new things all of the time to see what works for you and what doesn’t. How do you ensure that you don’t find yourself off course, you know, even a one degree error or a one degree misstep can have implications over time. And you can find yourself way off course, you can be one degree, of course in January and be somewhere completely different by the end of the year.
So how do you make sure you stay aligned with your authentic self. Now we hear the word alignment being used all of the time, all of the time. But what does being in alignment actually feel like because it’s a feeling. Now every single one of us is unique, and what works for me in my business and how I want my business to operate is going to be very different to the way that you want your business to look and how you want it to feel.
So today, I’m not going to go into what human design is because I’ve covered this topic on multiple episodes of the show. So today I want to talk about the four areas in your business that are absolutely crucial to be aligned with so that you can achieve the quantum growth that you’re looking for. So firstly, when we think about human design, I really want you to know that these are not hard and fast rules. Human Design is all about unlearning, and letting go of out of date and inhibiting beliefs and old conditioning patterns. There are too many people that use human design as a new set of rules, or as a set of excuses of why they’re not able to do something, you know, I can’t do that because it’s not in my design. And this oh my goodness, this frustrates me. This is absolute BS and really, really gets under my skin because it gives human design a bad name. There’s no hard and fast rules. Your chart is a guide to point you in the direction so that you can start to experiment and see and try on and feel what’s right for you. So I’ve got that out of the way.
Let’s dive into the four areas of your business you need to align with to really increase your momentum and growth. Starting with number one, you need to be aligned with your marketing so you can attract your champagne clients. Now there are a few areas in your chart to help you with this. But today I want to share the first place to give you a really good start. And your brand message is located in your personality, mercury, and that’s down the right hand side of your chart with what looks like a little person with horns. Now to help you to begin to understand what this could look like.
Let’s dive into the chart of a very well known entrepreneur Richard Branson. Now his brand message is engaged 31 which is the game of influence also known as the gate of democracy. The energy of this gate is designed to be influential with the leadership being united and not hierarchical. It has the vision for a new direction and shows others how to achieve and it’s not about him doing it for them or it’s not it’s not about you know the person with this energy doing it for other people. Now, Richard Branson’s personal brand is all about having ideas and getting others on board and this is how he has started and get started with all of his company. He’s, you know, he had the idea for Virgin Airlines and he wasn’t a pilot. So he brought the right people in virgin active, he’s not a fitness professional, he brought the right people in, he provides the spark and then brings in the people to bring the companies to life. Now my brand message is in the gate of openness, also known as the gate of grace. And this energy is about sharing and being attentive to what is essential and new for those people around me. So it’s my responsibility to listen to what’s happening around me, and then to use that information to create change in others. So hopefully, just hearing those two examples, gives you a starting point to dive a little deeper and experiment with your marketing message.
So let’s dive into the second area to be aligned, you need to be working in your zone of genius. Now, way too many experts get caught working in the weeds of their business, doing stuff they have salutely hate doing. And as you would know, when you’re doing the stuff that you really don’t like to do, or that you really hate to do some of those tasks that we really, really don’t want to do it all, it always takes you much longer than it should. So for you to grow your business, you need to spend your time in your zone of genius. This is why people come and work with you. So it makes sense to spend the majority of your time here. So for this, jump into your chart, and have a look at your design earth. Now your earth is the second number from the top, and it’s on the left hand side of your chart. And it’s the circle with the little cross in the middle. Now, knowing my core genius and understanding that this is the role I’m meant to be playing in my business every day has been one of the most liberating experiences for me and an absolute game changer in our business. Michael genius is to be the visionary, and to initiate new projects. It’s not up to me to finish these projects. And know if I’ve entered into these projects, using the correct strategy and authority, I will attract the right people to finish these projects. All of my life, I’ve been told to finish what I start, that’s what most of us are taught. But with my design, the energy dissipates. When I forced myself to struggle through and finish a project, that project loses momentum. Now this isn’t the same for everyone. This is where you really need to take note of how you are uniquely designed. Because one of my clients, Kate is designed to see projects through to their full completion. Now, she had a habit of starting things and not finishing them. And once we discovered this part of her chart, she committed to entering into an experiment for a month to see what would happen if she completed her projects. Now let’s just say the next month she had a heap of new opportunities present themselves and land in her lap. And she had an extremely successful month. So take a look. We’re not all designed to do things the same way.
Okay, number three, be in alignment to create the business operating model that fits you like a glove. Do you like working long hours as a generator, when I get really excited by a project, I can spend huge amounts of hours immersing myself into creation. And I don’t get worn out when I’m really excited by my projects, it actually energizes me. But if you’re a projector, you may want to spread your day out making sure that you take some time out for fun things that energize you like going for a surf or to a pottery class or anything that’s fun for you. But you also need to be really certain of how you want your life to feel. And you need to get clarity on this. Because if you don’t get clarity on how you want your life to feel, you can get caught up in just going down the road of sameness every day. You know, if you’re a mom of four little preschoolers, you probably don’t want a business model that calls for lots of in person meetings or events. Or maybe you do maybe you want to to get away from them for a while. You know, it’s up to you. How do you want that to feel? If you want to travel, you want to make sure that the bulk of your delivery is done online. Now these all sound like no brainers but I’ve seen time and time again, coaches and experts creating business models purely because they’ve seen someone else create something successful. And then they get frustrated because it doesn’t work for them and the lifestyle they want to be living and in most instances they self sabotage their results. So you need to be really honest with yourself and unapologetically choose a business model that energizes and excites you. You don’t want this to be the reason that you’re sabotaging your results.
And finally number four You need to be in alignment to make more sales. We’re all uniquely wired to attract abundance and prosperity. Again, what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another. So there’s a clue in your chart in personality Jupiter, and you’ll find this information on the right side of your chart and the simple food Jupiter is the funny looking number four. Now, this will give you a clue on the energy that is your money design. So my money design is about bringing new ideas and experiences into form with the emphasis on experience. So when people have a great experience, they feel something that stirs within them. So I make sure I design all my programs with a holistic experience so that my clients feel or experience these deeply fulfilling transformation. Now, I want you to remember that even though I’ve shared some really great places to look into your chart to get some amazing insights around your marketing, your zone of genius, your business model and making more sales, the starting point is to always go back to being in alignment with your type, your strategy and your authority into into opportunities with the right energy and make your decisions in a way that’s right for you. Because when you’re in alignment with the way you’re designed to operate, business and life feels much more effortless and a lot more fun.
